Program Manager
Chris Lupton, M.S.
Christine
holds a M.S. in Continuing & Vocational Education and a M.S.
in Recreation Administration. She manages the annual Transforming
Teaching Through Technology initiative for DoIT. She is a former
Faculty Associate in Continuing and Vocational Education and Recreation
Resources Management at the UW-Madison. Prior to her teaching and
advising roles, she managed an international folk arts center,
an international education conference, a residential summer camp
program, and the training department for a private sector business.
She is a qualified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator administrator, and
consults with campus groups, technical schools, private industry,
and the federal government on workplace issues. She is currently
writing her dissertation on an experiential learning-based instructional
design model that she developed. She also advises the campus Adventure
& Environmental Education Club.

Project Assistants
Luiz is a Ph.D. student in Educational Communications and Technology in C&I and a Project Assistant at DoIT Academic Technology. He is interested in using technologies that can be accessed via the Web for teaching and learning. He taught ESL for over 11 years in Brazil and was a Teaching and Project Assistant while pursuing his Master's in Instructional Technology at Northern Illinois University. His skills include teaching, Web design and development, database design, image, audio and video editing as well as working with different file formats for these media. Luiz has had experience working with Adobe's Photoshop and Acrobat, Macromedia's Dreamweaver, Flash and Authorware, Studio 8, iMovie, Vegas, and Audacity.

Program Staff
Vanessa Shirley brings more than a decade of journalism experience to her role as a project assistant for the Engage Communications Team. Vanessa has worked in television markets in California, Wyoming and Arizona. Most recently, she anchored the weekend news on Channel 27 here in Madison. Vanessa is an experienced visual storyteller and is excited to use those skills to promote Engage Awards.
Vanessa studied broadcast journalism at Chapman University in Orange, CA and is now pursuing her graduate degree in occupational therapy at UW.
In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys cooking, but not doing the dishes and cheesy puns. She also has been known to snort when she laughs.
